What is a Goldendoodle?
A Goldendoodle is a hybrid breed that results from crossing a Golden Retriever with a Poodle. This breed was originally developed in the 1990s as a hypoallergenic alternative to the Labrador Retriever-Poodle mix, known as the Labradoodle. The goal was to create a friendly, intelligent, low-shedding companion dog suitable for families, especially those with kids, service work, and therapy. Goldendoodles quickly gained popularity due to their affectionate nature, high intelligence, and adaptability to various living environments. They typically come in three sizes—miniature, medium, and standard depending on the parent's size.
